ABOUT

Born in Paris in 1998, Diane-Laure Mussy is a contemporary artist whose practice explores the liminal spaces between the visible and the invisible, nourished by a meditative attention to the world. Working primarily in photography, she develops a sensitive approach to light, gesture, and perception.

Her work invites the viewer into a world of introspection, where figuration blends with abstraction. The artist constructs visual narratives imbued with profound emotional resonance. Her photographs become thresholds: places of passage between the tangible and the intangible, between the interior and the exterior, inseparable forces that permeate her entire approach and situate her work within a quest for presence, intensity, and vibration.

Most of her series are in black and white, and when she does use color, red plays a central role — vibrant and emotional...

Diane-Laure Mussy holds a Master's degree in Photography from the Spéos International School of Photography in Paris and a Bachelor's degree in Photography from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. She won the Young Photographer Award at the Bièvres International Photography Fair and the Spéos Fine Arts Prize in 2022. Her work was exhibited at the Rencontres d'Arles in 2023 and is currently on display at the Bai Gallery in Beijing, China.
